In increasing capacity building for the Immigration Office Class I TPI Denpasar staff, the Directorate General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia collaborated with the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Denpasar in collaboration with the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) of Udayana University to hold the opening ceremony for Mandarin Language training at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Denpasar, Monday (8/11/2021) The Opening Ceremony was conducted in a hybrid manner in the meeting room of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Denpasar. The opening of the Mandarin language training for TPI Denpasar class I immigration office staff was officially opened by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali Province. Also attending this event were the Deputy Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China in Denpasar, the Director General of Immigration, the Head of Sub-Directorate and Head of the Sub-Directorate of the Head of the Immigration Division of Bali Province, the Head of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Denpasar, and Mandarin language training participants from the Immigration Office staff of Class I TPI Denpasar , and Immigration office staff class II TPI Singaraja. The Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China in Denpasar in his speech represented by the Vice Consul, Mei Yuncai, stated that Mandarin language training is expected to improve the quality of service by immigration staff in providing services to Chinese tourists to Bali. Furthermore, the Vice Consul stated, We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for the good cooperation with the Immigration Office of Bali Province and the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) of Udayana University in Mandarin language training activities. The Director of the Indonesia Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) Udayana University, Drs. I Made Sendra in his remarks said that, the purpose of implementing the Mandarin language training activity is to increase the capacity building of immigration officers who will be the frontline staff in providing services to welcome the arrival of Chinese tourists to Bali in the era of the new normal situation. The Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China has established very good cooperation with TCI Udayana University in providing Chinese language training since the establishment of this Institute on December 10, 2019. The improvement of the Mandarin language skills of Bali immigration staff is expected to provide better language services, so that the loyalty of Chinese tourists to come to Bali will increase. Chinese tourists are a very large market share in the contribution of the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of Chinese tourist visits was in the highest rank of the top five in the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali, explained Made Sendra after the Opening event Monday (11/8/2021).
